It was Saturday morning. But today was not another Saturday morning, today was a Saturday morning where I would look for a driving school so I could get my drivers license.
Recently, my parents had bought me a new car. The new car was a white Holden Astra CD 2007. Our family now has two cars, one Nissan Maxima 1999 and the new car.
Me and my parents starting looking through the phone book this morning at about nine in the morning. There were a lot of driving schools. There was two advertisements that had caught our eye. There was a driving school that had offered a very low price but was too far away, so we decided to look at the second. The advertisement said "A driving school that will teach you the skills to be a professional driver!". We call this driving school and found out they were perfect.
We visited a driving school and I had met my instructor. The instructor greeted me with a friendly smile. The instructor then turned to the direction of the new car my parents had bought for me and told me to get in. I agreed, and moved quickly.
The instructor told me about the route we were going to go through before we started driving. He said that we were going to go through a simple route. I listened carefully, not wanting to make myself look bad on my first day of driving school.
Once he had stopped talking, I started up the car and started going through the route he had assigned me. The route was a simple square, all I had to do was drive out the car park and drive around the simple square shaped course and arrive back and I would complete my first driving lesson.
I was driving slowly, trying to avoid the traffic and applying the right tactics at certain points of the course. When we arrived at my first corner, I slowed down and slowly turned my car until the car had fully faced the new direction that it was travelling.
Once I had completed the course with no problems, the instructor gave me a smile and said that I should come back tomorrow for another lesson. He mentioned that I did very well on that course, but he said the courses will get a lot harder over time.
I smiled in agreement and went back home with my parents. When I was at home, I thought to myself that when I grow up I want to travel. Travel around the country, travel around cities in my car, seeing what other places had looked like compared to my home.
This was one promised that I had kept to myself and would never forget, no. This was one promise I would perform with my driving skills.
