I have been very jealous of Rosemary who already started her driving lessons couple of months ago. She told me she enrolled with a driving school and she is having a lot of fun with her lessons. Finally, I have already convinced Mom to take me to the nearest Roads Traffic Authority office to book for a test. Two weeks ago, I passed the exam and got my Learner Driver's License.

I want to enrol to a driving school as well like Rosemary. But mom insists that I do not need to enrol to a driving school. She said dad and my sister will teach me to drive. I do not feel confident though to drive and have a lesson with my dad and my sister who always scold at me when I commit mistakes in everything I do. I prefer to enrol in a driving school and be trained by a professional driving instructor.

Mom did not enrol me to a driving school not because we do not have money but because she does not want to spend money for it. She reasoned out that it is much better that a family member teaches me to drive rather than a stranger. She also wants me to use her classic car which is as old as her rather than use the family's new automatic car. She assured me that she will give me the new car and said I can use it for travel to school and friends' house when I already have passed the actual driving test.

I felt like crying that nobody wants to listen to me. I still believe that it is much better for me to be trained by a professional driving instructor. These instructors are well trained to train young and new drivers like me. I also think that automatic car is much better and easier rather than mom's vintage classic car. Will anybody be willing to listen to me?

Sometimes, I envy Rosemary for having parents who are good listeners. Her family is also one of the richest and successful business people in our locality. But somehow, I know I have to be grateful for having parents like my mom and dad. They are really very hard working people and perhaps they are just saving the money for other family expenses. Rosemary's parents have no time with her because they are more focused on business and making lots of money. I am still very lucky because my dad and sister are very much willing to spend time to teach me how to drive.

Most of the times, we have to look at things from a different perspective and with open-mind.
